The reality is that Uncertainty is always part of life

There will always be uncertainty in our lives, virus or no virus. It is how we embrace the uncertainty that leads to the great transformation of our lives.

Uncertainty may lead to anxiety, worry, and stress. Those who react by worrying focus on potential threats and risks such as “what if I lose my job?” or “what if I get sick?” Worry can be useful when it leads to adaptive behaviours that reduce the threat, but chronic worry may cause harmful levels of stress that can affect heart health and the functioning of the immune system, among other things.

What’s happening right now is more than just fear, the pandemic of fear is worse than the pandemic of the virus. Are we going to panic and be selfish stocking commodities and not stay at home? Or are we going to be conscious of who we are and be compassionate and caring for each other.

You see, uncertainty, doubt and panic about the future is irretrievably a part of life. Coronavirus is just highlighting this, in the most acute way. Be aware, and take precautions, but don’t focus on news and social media which will lead you into a panic.

Let’s make use of this opportunity, to take a step back, and think about our community, and our land. Let’s stock up on compassion. Care for each other, obey guidance for social distancing, support each other with love. If everyone one of us can take this step and let go of anxiety and live for the present moment, together we will be strong, interdependent, and connected.

Let’s focus on the here and now, and thus make the most out of every second of our lives as well as find gratitude in what we have, without taking anything for granted.

Stock up on compassion and do not panic. This too shall pass.

Take care, and be safe and most importantly STAY AT HOME
