Habits That Grips You Down From Success


Procrastination

Procrastination is a habit, where you deliberately avoid a work you need to get done and know there will be negative consequences. People procrastinate not of laziness or self-discipline but as a mechanism of coping stress. According to psychological studies procrastination is known as a “subconscious desire to feel good right now”, in order to feel a temporary stress relief. It’s like emotional eating for the mind, which makes you highly unproductive, low in energy; lose courage and confidence, trapping you in one place. Procrastination is deadly to your success.


Perfectionism

You become a perfectionist to avoid criticisms. Time is always right to do what is right. If you are waiting for the right time to apply for the job, or to post your first post on LinkedIn, because you think it got to be perfect, you will never be able to take actions to attain your dreams. The only way you could learn and be successful is by simply taking that 1st step. The mistakes and imperfect stuff that you do during the journey make you confident and successful. If you are thinking of doing stuff, but trying to make it perfect before you put it out, you are not only missing your golden opportunities but your success as well. Success is not about being perfect, it’s about just being you, and be willing to start before you are ready and do whatever you can.


Fear

Fear is real. The things that you are afraid of doing in your life, in your relationships, or at work will rob you from the beautiful experiences you are about to have on your life, most importantly it is stopping you from living your dream life. For example, if you are fearful of talking to your boss for a pay raise it is going to impact your financial freedom. If you are fearful of failures and rejections and not making any effort to ask or talk to people for help you are literally losing the opportunity to live your dream life and move forward towards success.


Hesitation

Every one of us has a habit of hesitation. Hesitation is a kiss of death. You might hesitate for a just nanosecond, but that small hesitation triggers a mental system that is designed to stop you, where your brain goes into protection mode. When you hesitate before making a sales phone call, replying for an important email, doing new things that you have not done before or difficult for you, your brain starts working to stop you from doing it. Therefore in order to change, in order to do the best ever things that you know you have to do with your life, with your work, with your dreams you are going to have to do things that are difficult, scary and uncertain. Hesitating to do so will lead you to failures and block your success.


Self-doubt

Self-doubt is a dream killer. Feeling you are not good enough, not ready, and doubting yourself are all imposter syndrome. These kinds of thoughts can cripple you down from success. The only way to break this is by taking immediate action.


Negativity

It is the greatest enemy to your success. Negative thoughts hold you down, tire you out and take away all Joy. Negativity not only comes from your own thoughts but may also be influenced by the circle of people around you. It can lead to stress, anxiety and paralyzes you from taking actions.


 These are habits that are sabotaging your success, and holding you down. However, the good news is, you can break these habits by choosing to take action.
